Recently sold in the Rosanna Elliston or Golflinks Estate is this great home at 14 Von Nida Crescent, Rosanna. I got talking to one of the neighbours at an inspection and I believe the home was built for a staff member at Merchant Builders around 1972. The architects may have been McGlashan Everist.

Banyule Modern is Back...

Well its been a heck of a year since I was last regularly blogging!

My business has been going really well and earlier this year I had a baby to really keep me on my toes! During this maternity leave 'down time' I've been thinking about Banyule Modern and I've actually started to miss it - so it's back!

I will be posting homes currently on the market along with some of the MCM gems that I kept in my archives over the past year while I was 're-charging'!

AV Jennings Retro

Doo do dooo! Sound trumpets please! I believe this is my first entry for Bundoora....

Built in the late 1960's by AV Jennings, this house at 12 Norfolk Crescent Bundoora could be a great foot in the door for those seeking their first Mid-Century pad!  It has a groovy original kitchen re-worked in a fresh green colour and a boom-boom bedroom with walls covered in fantastic leafy wallpaper. 

    

Love the aqua kitchen - Just need to rework those splashback tiles!

Wattle Make it Retro?

A few apartments for lease and sale at 6 Wattle Drive Watsonia at the moment. Exterior is so 1960's, they could really re-work the external colours and landscaping to bring it bang up to date Modern - Body Corporate are you listening??

Avocado Kitchen

I am a green girl. I like green. Green makes me happy.
So you can imagine my joy at seeing this kitchen at 11 Myrtle Street, Heidelberg Heights.

I think they probably called it 'Avocado' back in the day.

Lower Plenty seems to have the most incredible properties! This little beauty at 141 Bonds Road, Lower Plenty is set on an acre and includes a tennis court and fabulous swimming pool and if the photographs are to be believed - one heck of a view of the city skyline!

A few retro pool lounges and colourful beach umbrellas would not look out of place here!

Devonshire Tea

Watsonia Post Office after closing

I've been a big fan of this little shop at 73 Devonshire Road, Watsonia for a lot of years now. It was originally the Watsonia Post Office and was then sold and slated for demolition to make way for an apartment block development. The GFC however but those plans to rest and it seems for now it might just have escaped the wrecking ball...
