Plenty River Potential

Hmmm, its always concerning yet intriguing when a property is described by agents as needing "a little bit of TLC and spring clean". Coupled with the lack of internal photos, I must say 45 Plenty River Drive, Greensborough has me curious!

Corrong Caught

During my hiatus I was also contacted by Paul who was researching Merchant Builders Homes in the area. He brought this fantastic original example at 7 Corrong Court, Eltham to my attention and suggested I include it on the blog. Although its from the later part of the 20th Century it certainly holds true to the principles and elements that were breaking ground in the 50's & 60's, where as a lot of homes in the 80's were more interested in being 'mock' period in style.

The Name is Bonds...

I could handle that for a view!

Lower Plenty seems to have the most incredible properties! This little beauty at 141 Bonds Road, Lower Plenty is set on an acre and includes a tennis court and fabulous swimming pool and if the photographs are to be believed - one heck of a view of the city skyline!

A few retro pool lounges and colourful beach umbrellas would not look out of place here!
Cosy Lounge for Winter - Love the bluestone fireplace & timber lined ceilings!

I'm a sucker for brick floors too!

Corowa Cool

Simplicity and refined style never dates. This is why I think this Fasham Johnston home at 58 Corowa Crescent Greensborough built in the 80's/90's still looks as cool today as it did the day it was built. And I bet its fabulous to live in too - with North facing living areas, timber lined ceilings throughout and in-slab heating. I'm kinda wondering why I didn't see it sooner!

Modern kitchen - still holds up today

Not so Mellow Yellow

Regular readers will know that Yellow is one of my favourite colours. I found a series of great yellow kitchens back in January and recently I found another. Trawling the real estate pages as I tend to do, I couldn't help fall in love with this bright yellow kitchen at 57 Booyan Cresent, Greensborough. It's so cheerful! I hope the future new owners like it too.

Spring Meadow

Remember the story about the ugly ducking who grew into a beautiful swan? Well I certainly think this property at 3 Meadow Court, Viewbank is an ugly duckling.... but with a little vision and a lot of elbow grease it could have a swansong!
Think painted brickwork (not rendered!!), a few repairs, a smack-up-to-date colour scheme and some native planting and landscaping - and new window coverings internally.

Tranquil Winter is Over

Thank goodness Spring has sprung! Don't know about you but I really struggled with mood & motivation this Winter. It just seemed extra long and so dreary!! I am now excited about longer, warmer days, BBQ's with friends, working in the garden and on the house and - of course - the Spring property market! For those looking for a new nest, might I suggest 6 Tranquil Winter Court, Viewbank? Not sure when it was built - possibly 1980's? I'm keen to check it out over the weekend.
Fantastic Native Garden out front
Timber lined ceilings - I'm totally a sucker for those!

Stainless Steel bench tops - For the professional cooks out there - MR would love that.
A little Aztec inspired courtyard? Lots of great windows in the living areas.

Aires & Gracedale

Sited within the kind of bushy native garden the suburb is famous for is the potential-packed 2 Gracedale Avenue, Eltham North. There are four bedrooms with a generous walk in robe and ensuite to the master bedroom. The North facing living spaces are flooded with light and open onto a private covered courtyard and there seems to be some interesting built in storage between the recessed windows (see image below).

Check out that gleaming fireplace!

Greenhills are alive!

I haven't posted a property in Greenhills before so this home at 82 Albion Crescent, Greensborough/Greenhills is the first. And its a pretty good one to kick off with.

Oh I do love a light and happy living area and a dark and moody bedroom!

Dood, Where's my House..? Part 2

I think I might need to jump in the car this weekend and check out a few houses - including this one at 8 Doodson Court, Eltham. Back in August last year I featured number 9, which I presume is next door (being a court). It has great features and a classic material palette but above all, it just seems to have a great 'feel' about it.

Kitchen LOVE!!

New Beginning for Old Eltham Road?

121 Old Eltham Road, Lower Plenty.
A sharp new colour scheme outside and a quick make-over inside (and groovier furniture) would do wonders for this home and make it truly covetable.

Isn't the light filtering through that pergola just magic!?

Best and Fairdale

I have resorted to digging back through the archives this week and I just don't know how I missed this one!! It's a great house at 6 Fairdale Court, Eltham and it sold earlier this year.
Feature fireplace, timber lined ceiling & great windows.
Brave Kitchen!
LOVE the bathroom!!

Avarn a Go

4 Avarn Court Eltham is trademark Eltham style. It has been updated, but still has
the bulk of original features.
