Anley Sibbel
Another Sibbel home has come up for sale at 5 Anley Mews Montmorency. With a simple plan on an unusual sized block, it makes the best of orientation and materials within its compact form. And a perfect fireplace for the upcoming winter!

Caerleon Castle
Caerleon is a town in south east Wales - the site of an ancient Roman fortress, a supposed seat of King Arthur's court. No sign of ancient ruins here, but I have dug this c1962 Mid-Century beauty out of the archives for today - it sold in December 2009. It's tucked away at 4 Caerleon Court, Eaglemont and is almost fit for a king!

Aires & Gracedale
Sited within the kind of bushy native garden the suburb is famous for is the potential-packed 2 Gracedale Avenue, Eltham North. There are four bedrooms with a generous walk in robe and ensuite to the master bedroom. The North facing living spaces are flooded with light and open onto a private covered courtyard and there seems to be some interesting built in storage between the recessed windows (see image below).
Check out that gleaming fireplace! |

Graeme Monty
Oozing light and charm, 19 Graeme Avenue Monmorency is clearly owned, lived in and loved by a fellow fan of the mid-century era! There have been a few small updates to the kitchen and bathroom but all within the existing framework of the original home. It has such a great vibe - you feel like you could move right in and feel at home straight away!
Love the green on green bathroom! |

McKellar Pool Party
Another Watsy wonder today at 27 McKellar Street, Watsonia. As the sales blurb says - " Its time for this 70's classic to get its 'Mojo' back" and for once the agent is spot on!!
Unassuming facade |
A little work and imagination required here - Inside & Out! |
No 70's property would be complete without a bar! |
Seagrass matting and great bricks! |

1960's Elder
I found a little 60's gem in Watsonia today at 1/59 Elder Street Watsonia. Perfect for first home buyers or empty nesters. It has some great features not often found in such a compact unit - It even has a garage and generous sized yard.
The window lined living room with great little fireplace with crazy stone surround and grooved lining boards! |
Kitchen with open back to living room - Heaps of bench & storage space for a unit! |
Sweet little bathroom in powder blue. |

Little House on Lower Plenty
This house at 486 Lower Plenty Road, Viewbank sold earlier this year. Its an absolute time capsule! Check out the mural on the kitchen floor and the 'mod' bathroom! Despite the mid century bones, it has a 'Little House on the Prairie' vibe somehow! Interesting one.
Groovy Boomerang design on the kitchen floor! |
Reminds me of the Seaholme house bathroom |
